Marcos Ramirez (Platinum Bay Real Estate) has shown some great pace in 2017, and after coming close before the Spaniard then finally took his first Moto3™ podium at the German GP. Escaping at the front with Championship contenders Joan Mir (Leopard Racing) and Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers), Ramirez fought for the win before taking third, unwilling to risk his first ever podium.
Marcos Ramirez, P3: “I feel really good, thanks to the team and KTM for working a lot to get this result. For me the race was fantastic, I was fighting to win the race! In the end I finished third but at the end for me it’s like a win. In the final part I didn’t want to push too much in case I crashed, I preferred to finish third. Before the race I knew Mir, Canet, and Bulega had good pace, and I thought Fenati too. I wanted to follow Joan Mir because I knew he was faster, just follow, and at the end push a bit more. Now one month of break, but holidays is relative because all month will be training to be ready at Brno.”
