After suffering an injury in training, Mario Aji (Honda Team Asia) will sadly be sidelined from the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve. The Indonesian was scheduled to do a second Moto3™ wildcard at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve but suffered a broken femur when training on Tuesday ahead of the event.

The following day, Aji underwent successful surgery and is now on the road to recovery. Dr. Ignacio Ginebreda of the Catalan Institute of Traumatology and Sports Medicine (ICATME) carried out the operation on a diaphyseal fracture of Aji's right femur, performing reduction surgery and internal fixation using an endomedullary nail.
Aji will remain under observation at Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona for 48-72 hours before being discharged to begin his rehabilitation.
