The 1000th Grand Prix didn’t disappoint. It was a record-breaking weekend at the SHARK Grand Prix de France, and now it’s time to gander through some stats that have emerged from an unforgettable weekend.
278,805 – The French GP has broken the all-time event attendance record in MotoGP™ with 278,805 spectators.
2006 – With Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) winning at the French GP, this is the first time there are four wins for Italian riders over the opening five MotoGP™ races since 2006 with Loris Capirossi, Valentino Rossi and Marco Melandri.
595 – Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) crashed out, so at the Italian GP, there will be 595 days since his last GP win at the 2021 Emilia-Romagna GP. As a comparison, there were 581 days between Valencia 2019, his last win prior to his arm injury sustained in Jerez in 2020, and his subsequent win at the 2021 German GP.
31 – With Bezzecchi winning from Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) and Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing), Ducati is on a streak of 31 MotoGP™ Grand Prix races in a row with at least one rider on the podium.
17 – Zarco finished P3 for his 17th MotoGP™ podium and his second this year after his P2 at the Argentinian GP. Zarco now has one less podium than Christian Sarron, who sits in second on the list of French riders with the most podiums in the class behind Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™’s Fabio Quartararo (29).
17 – With his 17th podium, Zarco also extended his record as the rider with the most podiums without a win in the class (ahead of Colin Edwards with 12).
4 – Augusto Fernandez (GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3) finished fourth at the top KTM/GASGAS rider for the best result of his rookie season so far. This was a great weekend for the Tech3 team as Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) took his second win in Moto3™ and the team’s first on home soil.
4 – Bezzecchi gave Ducati their fourth successive MotoGP™ at Le Mans following Danilo Petrucci (2020), Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jack Miller (2021) and Ducati Lenovo Team’s Enea Bastianini (2022).
3 – This is the third Ducati 1-2-3 along with Valencia in 2021 and Argentina earlier this season. France is the second time it’s also comprised only bikes from Independent teams, along with Argentina.
2- Bezzecchi is now tied with Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) as the most successful riders so far this season with two wins each. In addition, Bezzecchi is the rider with the most podiums so far this season with three.
2 – Bezzecchi took his second MotoGP™ win, becoming the ninth different Ducati rider to win more than once in the class.
1 – This is Martin’s first podium of the season so far and the first since he was third last year at the Valencia GP.
