It’s time to have a gander through some of the top stats that have surfaced from another magical weekend at Mugello and the Italian GP. See below for some eye catching numbers:
2006 – With Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) winning the Italian GP, this is the first time there are five wins for Italian riders over the opening six MotoGP™ races since 2006 with Loris Capirossi, Valentino Rossi and Marco Melandri.
50% – Bagnaia has won half of the last six MotoGP™ races.
32 – With Bagnaia winning from Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) and Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing), Ducati is on a streak of 32 MotoGP™ Grand Prix races in a row with at least one rider on the podium.
18 – Zarco finished P3 in Italy for his 18th MotoGP™ podium and his third overall this year along with Argentina (P2) and France (P3). Zarco is now tied with Christian Sarron in second place on the list of French riders with most podiums in the premier class behind Fabio Quartararo (29).
18 – With his 18th podium, Zarco extends his record as the rider with most podiums without a win in the class, ahead of Colin Edwards on 12.
14 – Bagnaia took his 14th win, all of which have been taken with Ducati, so he is now tied with MotoGP™ Legend Andrea Dovizioso as the second most successful Ducati riders in the premier class, behind Casey Stoner with 23 wins.
14 – Bagnaia is now also one win shy of Dovizioso’s total premier class win count, 15. Dovi is third on the list of Italian riders with the most wins. Valentino Rossi leads with 89 ahead of Giacomo Agostini with 68.
10 – Martin finished second for his 10th MotoGP™ podium and the second of the season along with France when he also finished P2. He’s now the eighth Ducati rider with 10 or more premier class podiums.
4 – This is the first Ducati 1-2-3-4 and the first for the same manufacturer in MotoGP™ since Honda at the Australian GP in 2011.
2 – Bagnaia did the double at the Italian GP (both the Tissot Sprint and GP victory) for the second time along with Portugal. He is the only rider to win both the Sprint and the GP race in the same weekend so far.
