Martin handed Long Lap penalty for Sunday’s Austrian GP

The Prima Pramac star was penalised after being adjudged to be riding irresponsibly in Turn 1’s Tissot Sprint incident at the Red Bull Ring

It was the big talking point from Saturday’s action at the CryptoDATA Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich. Turn 1 saw seven riders get caught up in the early Tissot Sprint incident, with Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) receiving a Long Lap penalty for his part in the crash.

The Spaniard was adjudged to have been riding irresponsibly by the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards, with the outcome being Martin having to take a Long Lap penalty in the next Grand Prix he takes part in. That means the #89 will be taking a LLP in Sunday’s Austrian GP outing, making his charge from P12 on the grid to rescue as many points as possible all the more tricky at the Red Bull Ring.
