Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) made light work of Friday morning's P1 session at the Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino. The Spaniard's 1:42.323 put him 0.296s clear of the field as he controlled the session from the top. It was Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) who got closest to the Honda rider in P2, with an impressive showing from Tastuki Suzuki (Leopard Racing) securing him a spot in the top three.

David Alonso (GASGAS Aspar Team) is looking strong from the off as the Colombian was the final rider in the 1:42s in P4. David Muñoz (BOE Motorsports) rounded out the top 5 ahead of Stefano Nepa (Angeluss MTA Team) with Championship leader Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) down in P13.
