It was Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) who topped the timesheets in FP2 with qualifying looming at the Red Bull Grand Prix of San Marino. Michele Pirro (Aruba.it Racing) trailed the Spaniard by 0.366s as he took P2 in Saturday morning's qualifying precursor. Luca Marini (Mooney V4R46 Racing Team) rounded out the top three as he eyes up a solid result on home soil.

Championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) took P4 with Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) rounding out the top five.
