Gonzalez sets new lap record, Acosta crashes

The pace-setting Spaniard beats Canet by over three tenths as the World Championship leader completes just two laps

In a red-flag disrupted Moto2™ Practice 1, Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Team) topped the timesheets with a 1:34.871 – a new Moto2™ Pertamina Mandalika Circuit lap record. Aron Canet (Pons Wegow Los40) and Jake Dixon (Inde GASGAS Aspar Team) rounded out the top three as World Championship leader Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) ends the morning in last place after suffering a big off.

Acosta was straight back onto his feet, but the damage done to his Triumph-Kalex machine was severe enough to see the MotoGP™-bound Spaniard sit out the rest of the session, despite the red-flag stoppage caused by technical issues. Not the start of the Indonesian GP the #37 was searching for.

Elsewhere, top five spots went the way of Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) and Idemitsu Honda Team Asia’s Ai Ogura ahead of Practice 2 which comes your way at 14:05 local time (GMT+8). Second in the Championship Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team) was P10.
