Martin draws first blood in Indonesia

It's advantage Martin as the Spaniard toppled the Aprilias in the closing stages of FP1

Prima Pramac Racing's Jorge Martin took like a duck to water at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia as the Spaniard set the benchmark for the weekend with a 1:31.811. Hunting down the Championship lead, Martin snatched the top spot in the final moments after the session had been dominated by the Aprilia Racing factory duo. Maverick Viñales and Aleix Espargaro rounded out the top three with the #25 putting in the hours as he clocked in 21 laps of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit to 2nd ahead of teammate.

Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) was another who shot up the order at the end. The Italian took a positive 4th place to kickstart his weekend. Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) had a fast off in the closing stages but did do enough to slot in behind his compatriot in P5. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) was sat in P3 as the session drew closer to the chequered flag. Whilst the Italian's pace looks positive, Pecco did slip down to 6th position in the end just ahead of his former teammate Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing).

Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) was 0.857s back from the top spot as he took 8th place ahead of what was a positive return to action for Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team) in P9. Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) is another who's returning from injury this weekend. The Italian rounded out the top 10 after Friday morning's action.

There are Q2 spots up for grabs later on as Practice for MotoGP™  is set to commence at 15:00 local time (GMT +6) so make sure not to miss any of the action on motogp.com!
