As we hurtle toward the thrilling conclusion of the MotoGP™ season, the action remains relentless. Our next stop: the iconic Phillip Island circuit this weekend. This event follows hot on the heels of the sensational Indonesian GP, and before we set our sights on Down Under, let's take a closer look at some of the standout statistics from Round 15 of the 2023 campaign!

0.433 – With 0.433s between winner Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) and Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) in P3, this is the closest podium finish of the year.

3 – Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) crashed out from the lead, which is the third time he has failed to score any points so far this season along with Portugal and Americas when he also crashed out. He also lost the lead of the MotoGP™ Championship to Bagnaia.

3 – Quartararo finished P3 to take his third podium of the season along with the Americas and India, when he was also third. This is his 31st premier class podium (all with Yamaha).

3 – Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) finished P2, to take his third podium of the season along with Portugal and Catalunya when he was also second. This is his sixth podium with Aprilia and his 34th overall in the premier class.

4 – Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) finished fourth as the top Independent Team rider, which is his best result since he stepped up to MotoGP™ last year.

10 – This is Bagnaia’s 10th podium so far in 2023, equalling his personal record in a season that he set last year.

12 – The win for Bagnaia is the 12th for Ducati this season, equalling the Bologna factory’s best season in 2022.

13 – Bagnaia won after qualifying 13th, becoming the first rider to win in a dry MotoGP™ race after qualifying outside the front four rows since Marco Melandri won the 2006 Turkish GP after qualifying 14th.

17 – Bagnaia took his 17th MotoGP™ win and his sixth so far this season, which is only one less than his personal record in a single MotoGP™ season, set last year.

30 – This is Ducati’s 30th podium so far this season, which is already two less than their record in a single MotoGP™ season set last year (32).

41 – With Bagnaia winning the race, Ducati is on a streak of 41 MotoGP™ Grand Prix races in a row with at least one rider on the podium.

500 – Francesco Bagnaia’s win at the Indonesian GP was the 500th victory for a rider on Michelin tyres in the premier class. The first Michelin victory was back in 1973 with Jack Findlay, as shown below:
