Born in 1949, MotoGP™ was the world’s first motorsport World Championship. Now, it’s the world’s most exciting sport and we’ll be celebrating our 75th anniversary throughout the 2024 season.
The festivities kick off this weekend at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana as 2023, the 75th season of the FIM Grand Prix World Championship, crosses the finish line, and there’s a first little piece of history up for grabs: the 75th premier class crown.
We know it’s one of two riders who’ll be placing the 75th plaque on the Tower of Champions: Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) or Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing). Ahead of the first match point for Bagnaia in the Tissot Sprint, here are the combinations that would see him crowned:

As ever, however, Martin could be a serious threat for victory in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix race. If that happens, Bagnaia needs a minimum of fifth in the Sprint and fifth on Sunday to be crowned Champion. That would put the two title contenders equal on points in a stunning finish to the season – but with more Grand Prix wins, Bagnaia would become the Champion of our history-making 75th season.
Tune in for the first match point of the weekend at 15:00 (GMT +1)!
